Danny Thomas honorary member of the Metrolina Phoenician Club

Charlotte , N.C. - The Metrolina Phoenician Club sponsored a special luncheon welcoming Mr. Danny Thomas to the greater Charlotte metropolitan area on Saturday May 16, 1987.

Leaders of the Lebanese American community along with members of the local business community were invited to this special event. President of the Club Mr. Ed Tubel spoke about the success of the club and how we must keep our heritage alive thanking Danny Thomas for accepting the club's invitation and bestowed on him an honorary membership.

Mayor Pro Tem Al Rousseau gave Mr. Thomas the key of the city of Charlotte .

Danny Thomas responded by thanking Ed for the honor he had in becoming a member of the Metrolina Phoenician Club and went on to speak in depth of his origin of Becharee in North Lebanon and the hospitality of the Lebanese people.

Walid Maalouf was the coordinator of Mr. Thomas's visit to Sacred Heart College and the Metrolina Phoenician Club and said: "Danny touched many hearts in a very short visit. He is a great Lebanese".
